Well, here it is! I finally have a proper ref sheet for feral Dainy. There's a lot to discuss here, but first I want to thank
skrymer1 for their wonderful work in depicting Dainy.
Preface - Dainy's feral form is entirely separate from his anthro form. Anthro Dainy is constrained to the worldbuilding work I do, and as such has a personality made to match that. Feral Dainy is a general use and NSFW oriented character, and so while they do have some lore and worldbuilding to them, it's much more diffuse and generalized.
Dainy's size is not fully set in stone, but he has a general use size that is used in 90% of scenarios you see him in. That size is as follows:
6' 3" (1.93 Meters) To the shoulder.
12' 3" (3.73 Meters) To the top of the head.
12' 8" (3.86 Meters) From snout to base of the tail.
42' 9" (13.03 Meters) From snout to tip of tail.
30' 1" (9.17 Meters) Tail length from base to tip.
Dainy's wingspan is scaled according to his snout to tail tip length. Assuming the dimensions listed above his total wingspan is:
45' (13.71 Meters) from wing tip to wing tip.
Dainy's body has a number of large horns and spikes along it. The horns on his head are referred to as the "Primary" and "Secondary" horns. The primary horns are his two large, recurved horns, while the secondary horns are the six small horns below the main horns. They both serve different functions.
Dainy's primary horns are use primarily as a defensive weapon. The recurve of the horns is intended to allow Dainy to hook the tip onto the head or chest of anyone attempting to cling to his neck from the back, and allow him to either kill, incapacitate, or fling the target off him.
Dainy's secondary horns are his equivalent of ears. Each of the six horns is composed of a porous lattice structure of horn material surrounding a central chamber that moves deeper into his skull. Within each of these horns is a membrane structure that functions similar to how human ears work. There is also a sliding plate of hardened horn material placed at the base of the horn that automatically responds to extremely loud sounds, and will rapidly slide shut and block further sounds from reaching the fragile membrane within. All six horns work in sync, and allow for extremely accurate triangulation of sounds.
Dainy's body has a number of non-retractable spikes. They are separated into two places: A series of four large spikes running along the base of his tail, and a series of four spikes at the tip of his tail.
The series of four spikes at the base of Dainy's tail are present to prevent anyone attempting to consume him tail first from safely making it any further. These four spikes are incredibly sharp, and are extremely difficult to move or break, being directly attached to his skeletal structure in such a way that would require breaking both his hips and a large plate of bone structure above them in order to remove the spikes. Snapping the spikes directly is almost, if not more hard than breaking the skeletal structure below, as they consist of an extremely strong, reinforced horn material.
The series of four spikes at the tip of Dainy's tail are his single most potent weapon. He has extremely precise control over the movements of his tail, allowing him to place and hold any one of the four spikes at any given point within the entire range of motion in under a second*. This has a precision of within a one inch diameter sphere around the given point, and can be reduced further with more careful movements. What this means in practice is that he can very precisely spear objects or people on his spikes, targeting weak points in armor at a speed that allows him to rapidly switch targets.
* The "Less than a second" time listed is for flicking from an idle position to any given point. If his tail is all the way to one side and wants to move to a point on the other side, it might take 1.5-2 seconds to flick it there.
Dainy has a large number of fully retractable spikes running along his back. The layout of these spikes is intended to render his back a near guaranteed kill zone for anyone attempting to attack him. Due to the fact that they interlock and reverse direction, anyone on the back when they extend will be pinched and stabbed between them. Dainy has individual control over the extension and retraction of the spikes.
The spikes are capable of retracting or extending fully in about 0.2 to 0.5 seconds. This means that they extend with significant force, and can dent or potentially puncture armor caught between them.
The spikes, when not retracted, are covered by two plates in an eyelid layout that automatically slide into place to cover the hole. These plates are extremely difficult to notice unless the viewer either knows the spikes exist, or looks very carefully. This provides Dainy with the element of surprise as many may not realize he has spikes along his back.
Dainy's wings consist of a large, thin, leathery membrane with a thin covering of black scales along the top. These scales provide protection from the sun while in flight. His wings also have a claw along the primary wing limb.
Dainy's wing claw functions as both a weapon and a utility. The curved claw is often used as a weapon to hook or slice at weakly armored targets standing on the ground to the side of Dainy's body. The claw is also able to lift a significant amount of weight, allowing him to hook a large, fully armored person and lift them into the air. This allows him to then throw this person with his wing.
Dainy's personality is a mixed bag of various aspects. His mood is unique in the fact that in almost never shifts from a completely causal, nearly emotionless state. He doesn't get angry, hateful, or otherwise allow spite or strong emotions to cloud his judgement. This functionally allows him to remain cold, calculated, and efficient no matter what the situation is. Dainy's primary motivation and interest is his own entertainment. This manifests in the form of him always being on the move, and always looking for new people to play with. Unfortunately for others, his definition of playing often involves causing significant harm to said person. He may seem overly happy or excited in situations where any reasonable person would be terrified.
Dainy's mentality is a unique blend of complete lack of morality with strict honor and neutrality. He almost always speaks bluntly, not sugarcoating his statements or words to please the other party. He adheres to no form of morality, having no limit in what he'll do. Although he prefers cause harm on a smaller scale, he has no issue with causing much more wide spread damage. This often manifests as him targeting small groups and inflicting intense suffering onto that group, but not attacking nearby groups. Although he lacks morals, he adheres to a strict code of honor. If he gives his word, he will always stick to it unless the other party doesn't follow the deal. He doesn't fight when he can't be beaten, and he always leaves a route for people to escape. Although he sticks to his word, he sticks to the words themselves, not the intent. He will always use loopholes in wordings, or find other ways to bypass the agreement. Making a deal with Dainy is akin to using the monkeys paw. You can get what you want from him, but you have to expect that you won't get it without strings attached.
Dainy has a limited amount of lore. His primary use is as a character in roleplay or NSFW content, and in either situation lore may not apply if the setting strays too far from his setting. The solution to this is to write him as a true wanderer. Dainy, as you see him, is only a projection of larger entity that sits outside the bounds of conception. The true extent of Dainy is akin to the concept of a true eldritch entity than any dragon or god you may normally see in fiction. He exists outside the bounds of the "possible" space and as such remains fundamentally inconceivable. While many creatures are intended to make sense in the context of the space they exist within, Dainy exists with in a sort of space that can't exist. The worlds he visits are part of an infinite multiverse known to him as "Existence." Every possible variation of every universe exists, infinity many times. The laws of physic within any given universe can be any number of infinite possibilities, and as such everything that possibly can exist does exist. There isn't space between any given universe, and there isn't a barrier you can cross to get to another universe. Outside of any given universe is what's referred to as "Impossible space." The true extent of Dainy has to lie somewhere within that impossible space, and as such is unique within the entire multiverse he exists within. The term "Impossible space" is an umbrella term that encompasses the concept of what can't happen and can't be conceived of. No matter how you attempt to word or explain anything, it doesn't encompass impossible space. How exactly something can exist in a space that's entirely defined by it's impossibility to be defined is left as an exercise to the reader.
Dainy is a character written with the intent of being applicable in any situation regardless of context, and as such his abilities are made to match. He can functionally do anything, however he very rarely uses anything more than his own body. Although he doesn't usually use powers, his most commonly used power is that of teleporting items to him. These items can come from anywhere within a given world so long as Dainy knows where and what they are. He also uses utility magic, primarily to artificially and selectively reduce the mass of his body. This allows him to maintain the same amount of control and muscle force while allowing easier mobility. This also allows him to interact with the world as if they weighed much less, preventing them from destroying things they don't want to destroy. They do not increase the mass of their body above the normal mass for what he's made of, he only reduces the mass. This also gives him great control in the air, making him a very difficult target to hit.
Dainy is mostly used by me for general use and NSFW content, so anything I've listed here is subject to change or interpretation in any given setting. This is only a baseline for how I use him, and doesn't fully encompass the things I might do with him. Basically, everything written here isn't set in stone and can change at any time if I want it to.
Well look! That's it! Hope you enjoyed your info dump on Dainy, I know I enjoyed writing it <3
