Known as the Paradise of Abundances, endless springs and a place were sickness and pestilence can not exist; Dilmun is the high realm holding Gods and Genies. Influential though out Sumerian, Babylon, Mesopotamia and various parts of the Arabian with some of it's influences still felt in Islamic faiths.
The Genies or Dijnn are as humane as other mortals but they themselves are immortal as long as they remain within Dilmun. Mortals can end up becoming Dijnn though various means but they start out as servents and can ascend up the cast system in Dilmun either gaining wind/storm contorting powers or work their way to serving the gods themselves after a trial of going to the mortal realm within a lamp and grant as many wishes (3 per user) [Note: These wishes can not be granted as contracted by the Genie: 1): The Genie can't raise or being back the dead. 2): Can't wish harm or death upon another. 3): Can not change or manipulate someone or a group of mortal's minds, feelings, thinking or beliefs. Wish at your own peril] and once they grant their last wish, they are free from their lamp and then able to return into Dilmun, higher in the class system.
From there the Djinn's can be continue granting wishes or control various magical or astro powers both free from the bounding of their magic lamp and contracts, while the most powerful become like gods themselves. If their lamp is destroyed in the mortal realm, the Djinn is sent back to Dilmun and only true death if they are slain in the realm. If they fall to negative energy, becoming rebellious and malicious, they burst into flames and become Ifrits and will cause harm to mortal kind. Same laws apply to the Ifrits, only their return to Dilmun will end in a one way trip to Hell. If someone finds a Ifrits lamp, either the Ifrits enters a cruel contract grants their wish out of unforseeable consequences, or flat out reject them and burn them in hateful flames
Dijnns are not the only beings Dilmun. There are also Marids who can either be helpful or evil, often giving rain and hydration to those in need or drowning and flooding places out of spite if they are malicious. They also have lamps when in the mortal world and depends on the Marid if they can help or harm depending on their personality.
Those Genies and Marids who ascend to Godhood are over seen by greater Genies who are as gods but watch over and maintain order for the creator. The are the 7 who decree. Lead by Anu: Father of the Heavens. The Just: Utu, The Wise: Enki, Nanna: God of the Moon, Inanna: Goddess of Love and War, Enlil: God are Wind and Storms, and Nighursag: Goddess of the Earth. They all watch over not only the Djinns but the mortals kinds and try and help lead them to the path to the creator. They would later bestow 5 pillars of the creator to a prophet to teach his people in order to live a moral and just life: Faith, Devotion, Charity, Fasting and Pilgrimage.
Dilmun remains one of the most essential realms in the cosmos through their discipline and pillars. All things considered: if you find yourself in possession of a lamp and a magical one at that, always remember to becareful what you wish for... you might get it and more...
