Picked up these stray kittens from the ride-share lot by the freeway. They had been living there for at least three days. We thought we'd pick them up, find a rescue to deliver them to in a few hours time and our good deed would be done!

Turns out the local "shelter" holds strays for 4 days then kills them if nobody has shown interest in those 4 days. So I looked at the SPCA, they want a surrender fee of $23/animal... we don't have nearly $50 laying around. So I looked for private rescues... and a day and a half later now I have had no replies. If I can't find someplace for them they are going to be re-deposited outside... as I can't risk them making our resident cats sick and they can't live in a tiny crate for so long! WHAT DOOOO????
