Keeping it Interesting (2025 Tickletober Story #6)
Today's prompt was stocks, and with it I bring a story of certain gaming night, starring Patchy and Milva.
It's a bit hard to show what your characters are like through art alone, so this served as an opportunity to show a bit more of their personalities - Milva being an incurrable goblin, Patchy - a grump that keeps putting himself in situations he immediately regrets.

It's really nice getting a story between these two, getting to know their personalities and chemistry. Honestly, I'd love to find out at a later point how Patchy found out about Milva's love of tickling. Also, kind of funny how ticklish Patchy is compared to Milva. Poor Vee.
Let's tickle Patchy some more in the future to build up his tickle tolerance. :3

Well well! Its good seeing one of your familiar faces! I'd say it was only a matter of time before they took up the spotlight, and I guess I shouldn't be surprised you managed to nail their introduction into the writing realm, great to be able to get to see another side of 'em! ✨
There's a great deal of chemistry between the two here, which i'd imagine would've been one of the first things you wanted to get right.. Only with the best of friends do you hit someone with a 'best of five', can't imagine gaming sessions between these two aren't always hectic, and that's a show i'd sign up to see- x3
From the smug mug Patchy flashes upon another victory, to Milva's snarky comebacks, these two always trying to throw shade at eachother and get a leg-up somehow, its a constant rivalry in a friendship I can always find myself adoring~
Nonchalantly just gonna bring up how much I enjoyed the main prompt being introduced into the picture too cause, I think you hit that off really well!
Not only was it built up to with a bit of character insight, but top that off with the mention of 'experimenting' and the big idea surrounding it, adding onto that with the tarp being tugged off for the big reveal, only for Milva to say what we're all thinking, you nailed this one~
More on the stocks actually! I'm half-assuming there's no correlation but, I couldn't help but feel like there miiight've been some ties to this piece you did waaaay back: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51849562/
I mean, fluffy rollers for not one, but the both of 'em? Coincidence, sure! And I really don't fault ya, these are done outstandingly well for stories done in a day (and i'll be sure to let you know anytime I get the chance like forced tutorial dialogue cuz you've gotta understand how great these are to me, genuinely-) and that does lead to sometimes unknowingly re-using an idea but, I'unno you might've been onto something here... :3c
In a sense, I kinda consider Patchy a bit of a Riddler type of character; One that would just as easily get away with their schemes and has all these great ideas, had they not provided ways where they get roped into it... uwu''
I mean it helps they're already in the space of stage play 'n all, i'm sure there's some tricks 'n traps experience behind that fuzzy face~
Let it be said also, I feel like I haven't read a Pokemon tickle story that has a fun little gimmick like this one in foreeeever...
And that little dynamic I mentioned before? Yeah good to see you kept that momentum! Not only with the tickling, veeeery much adding to the scenario i'm sure, visualizing the frantic jitters and shudders from the two Pokemon as they buckle and shiver at the sensation their poor paws are being dealt behind them certainly has its merits, but its the paring with the action in the game that I think exemplifies this to such a satisfying length!
I mean where else are you gonna hear two cars going at it like two Tauros in a ferocious mad-dash, and upon each swerve and deviation off the track (which was basically panacea for them-) they're sent into a giggly frenzy, and when I say frenzy I really do mean frenzy, its such an adorable play by you I think~ <3
Now, was it a little unexpected to see Milva manage to take another loss..? Yup! Honestly I was on the road to thinking this would be where Patchy finally has more to regret than just the idea 'backfiring'...
But am I complaining to see Milva get what she had coming..? :3
...well, i'll leave that answer up to you actually.~ ✨
All still, quite the show these two put on! And i'd almost say this one is high on the metaphorical tier-list (even if that would be a good idea by the end of the month, ngl... ) mostly cause of the way you concluded it..
Just as Patchy was about to reach for those locks, feeling pretty good about the whole outcome i'm sure, that smugness must've been dialed up to an 11 by then, the story is tied up into a bow with a retort that ties back to the beginning of this whole ordeal, and I love narrative callbacks like that, they're such a breath of fresh air~
All still, another big success by you i'd say! This was such a fun read, and a better look towards these two! And if this was the pilot to test if these two would work well for your audience? I'd say they won my heart over!
(..and y'know, eevee tickles ftw.~ ✨)

Thanks!
This particular scenario for mixing a video game with tickling was actually originally a picture idea that I had for years and never actually realised - in part due to the fact that I didn't really know what characters to feature. Now, I've been toying a bit with the idea that Patchy would be more "techy" to contrast Milva's magic, and this eventually extended into making him a gamer - and so it hit me that those two would fit perfectly!
It's also funny that you bring up that piece, since indeed - the thought did cross my mind that it's funny how I already made an animation with those exact two characters in a basically identical tickle machine (albeit in a completely different scenario) and... who knows? Perhaps it was that trick that inspired Patchy into building this one (or it's the thing from this story that inspired that machine... I enjoy introducing a bit of anachronic order into my stories/background lore).
I don't know yet whether I'll continue to writing regularly after I'm done with Tickletober. Depends on inspiration. I was thinking about trying my hand at comics or sprite comics (...to think to this day I only made a single mockup image, even though they're right up my alley and speciality...), but that's an idea for later.
Thanks again for a nice comment! ^^
