I don't recall how the idea of Zeke being a chubby kid came to be, but I do remember discussing it with the Dean of the Wombat Art Academy a-kitsune and he invented what you see here.

Bryce I know was short and scrawny at this age. He still is (save for growing a very slight gut). I think I simply wanted Zeke's history to contrast.

Some other data points:

Zeke is originally from the city of Moswakiskin, Alberta. He and Bryce both currently reside in Santa Fermata, California. Don't bother looking either of those places up. You'd either need access to a carefully calibrated projective-entanglement time machine or an Omega Gate to visit.

And let's do some math. Zeke just turned 37 yesterday, so in the Canadian school system he would have been in the 7th grade around 2000-2001. Pokemon was in full swing by then. I imagine the school principal standing up in a meeting and saying "the kids love those things! Maybe it'll help 'em learn, or something!"
