This is my attempt at game asset creation, as well as MapleStory fanart made entirely with Krita in a pseudo 3D format.


Ultimately I'd like to make a single map platform style of shoot-em-up to learn the basics of indie game creation, but for the short term, I'd like to animate this with entirely self made monsters instead of clippings taken from my own game screenshots.


This was a bit of work, but entirely worth the effort to make, as I learned a lot about ignoring the need to fuss over details, and focus on making this "Good Enough". And even making this, I need to acknowledge the effort and skill it takes for MiltFox and others when it comes to indie, hand drawn animations.


Imagine this cluster-fug of 50+ characters, monsters included, all needing their own movement, synced against each other, and NOT get any of this mixed up with the platform layers above or below them!.. That's some mental gymnastics !!
