Trouble On Three Legs (2025 Tickletober Story #7)
Day 7, with today's prompt being Tease.
I actually went into this one with basically no idea about what exactly I want to write other than I'm going to make one of the later prompts a prequel, and pretty much made it up as I went along. I didn't even decide on what Pokemon to feature here until yesterday night; I considered, among others, Buneary, Scorbunny, Purrloin and Eevee, but ultimately decided on Shinx and Cyndaquil. Why those two? Well... one of the ideas I toyed with and ended up not realising was having the story take place at Sharpedo Bluff, with the heroes being main characters of the second PMD game, so that of course limited me to available MC and Partner Pokemon. Among those Cyndaquil seemed like a cute and underused 'ler, and I wanted 'lee to be a quadruped with padded feet, so that limited me to just Eevee or Shinx. And since I already wrote an Eevee 'lee yesterday, having a Shinx be the one getting it this time seemed only fair.
Also, the Gengar that cameos at the end wasn't just a random character; his name is Cross, and he's a new OC I've been working on for some time and hope to introduce after I'm done with Tickletober. So... look forward to him ^^

Honestly, I love Quilava (if you couldn't tell by my sona) getting tickles, which extends to Cyndaquil. I honestly enjoy the silly teasing of our cute Shinx and her comeuppance through this story. Though I'm surprised that Cyndaquil stayed angry through the tickling without getting a bit giddy. The force of an angy hedgehog is definitely something not to fire up. If you made a sequel to this, I wonder if this Cyndaquil will be even more cruel... or if he'll get got. :>

I'd guess his immediate anger overrode any other emotions and it is only afterwards that the thoughts of "Did I really do this?" and "Oh Arceus, I DID it, it was fun and I got away with it!" would start coming to him.
I recall how in my early days I wanted to focus on rare and underused Pokemon ticklers and ticklees. Since then I got a bit more focused (cough cough Noibats), but I feel Cyndaquil is right in that uncharted territory (funnily, the only tickle art featuring the fiery hedgehog I can think of off the top of my head is an actual scene from the anime...)
