we need some witches for Halloween, right ?
A zillion years ago i worked on the first season of Sabrina The Teenage Witch. The main characters had already been designed and i was hired to do expression and poses pages as reference for the lay-out artists and animators ....
and then i was doing a bunch of storyboards for season 1.
Salem was a lot of fun in storyboard, most catoony, but Zelda was my fave.

About 25 yrs ago - thot sums here might have childhood memories. It certainly brings back childhood memories for me in the sense that i had an 8 yr old and a 6 yr old at the time - now all grod-up and making the world a weirder place. i might post some more Sabrina stuff this Inktober.

Sabrina is listed under Barking Bullfrog Prod. A Vancouver studio that employed freelancers to do storyboards, layouts,, model sheets, series development, etc . That was the norm for Vancouver animation studios back then - most artists worked freelance. Some Canadian studios were sub-contractors to US studios, while there were others creating original content.
i even got to storyboard and layout the end action sequence of a German feature film...a better experience than storyboarding the end action sequence of 'Doug - The Movie'. So it wasn't all fun.
But Sabrina was fun! i had a blast working on that show! you could do some cartoony stuff with Salem the cat's scenes!

i don't recall as a little kid i first saw her in the comics or in The Archies Hanna-Barbera '60s animated show first... - Then there was a '60's Sabrina spin-off , the Sabrina live action series starting in '96 - then this animecatoony influenced series in '99. There are probably new versions of her in the works right now.
