“What the hell is that?”

“You like it?”

“Tell me what it is, first – and why.”

“Oh, it’s the latest thing from Milan.”

“Um, okay, but . . . “

“But what?”

“The ‘latest thing’ from Milan involves poking holes in your pelvis and inserting a gold hoop?”

“It’s a ring.”

“Don’t you have enough piercings?”

“Not since I lost my navel ring.”

“How’d you lose your navel ring?”

“It got tangled up in my sheet and I rolled over.”

“Ow.”

“Yeah, it hurt. But these are pretty comfortable.”

“’These?’ Oh yeah, I see you have one on either side. And, I suppose, they can be useful along with decorative.”

“What do you mean?”

“Just in case you need to tow your car out of a ditch. Just hook the cables up to your hip hoops.”

“Are you telling me my butt’s too big? You’re being mean.”

“No, I’m telling you that you look stupid with those – and you’re an elephant.”

“Meanie. At least I don’t wear plaid and polka dots.”

“Why not?”

“That was last year’s trend.”
