Story (& confession) time:

I was actually attempting to commission a quicksand sequence with this character with another artist many many years ago—same background & all, too. This character's honest to god pretty damn cute and has been due for a sinking for a while IMO.

Having said that... the artist who worked on said sequence isn't bad by all means, but the sequence wasn't coming out the way I had wanted to with regards to how the character was drawn in general—for that reason, I never went through with the plan to make this into a full sequence and dropped it a few parts in.

ZekkyMZN is no stranger to drawing manga-styled artwork, especially quicksand-themed manga artwork—even if I've only ever admittedly commissioned him one such picture so far. His artwork output's pretty fantastic, so I figured I'd try and restart the sequence with him instead in manga-style.

I made the right choice, because DAMN did it come out good. The character was drawn with the right proportions in every picture, the mud texturing looks thick & gooey, and in general each part in this sequence really does look like it came out straight from a manga. I think manga-styled quicksand pics in general are pretty scarce so I hope to continue commissioning more of these pics in the future.

I'll be uploading the rest of the sequence whenever I can throughout the next few days if time permits me to.
