The first of the silly little survey gift sketches for
, of their Khajit, L'Kuita.
L'Kuita has some interesting lore (tl;dr blessed to be gorgeous, cursed to show it off 24/7), so it was interesting to consider well, what *would* be the most beautiful Khajit, so it adds an interesting layer while messing and conceptualizing. I did eventually end up drawing on the "symmetrical faces are considered more beautiful" idea, and using it as an excuse to mess around with the symmetry tool in Clip Studio. It's a little more imprecise than in Procreate (which seems to to a fill mirroring), but that actually allows for a more natural looking symmetry. So *most* of this headshot is symmetrical , but I did place the eyes separately and then went over some areas after I'd done so it doesn't have that weird uncanny valley thing going on.
This is a little more over the top than I intended for a silly gift sketch (I spent about as long as this as I might for one of the smaller Steel Artist paintings, hahaha), but I'm happy to learn how to use a new tool. I might mess around with a YCH idea that uses the mirroring effect, I'll have to think about that a bit more.
