As mentioned in my journal, I found out that folks could indeed nest layer groups withing the master group and sub-animate them to create very complex actions.
In this example in Krita, I have grouped my stack of arrow layers in their own layer-group, and added a transformative mask on that sub-stack so I could use the rotation tool to angle my arrow stream down, or up, however I wished, down to degree precision.
The next step beyond this would be to arrange my master character layer group to allow custom posing of her legs to depict jumping, and have her arc over and jump onto the hay bales while the slimes stampede her, only to be shot in the process. The transform mask on the arrow group allows for quick aiming of the shots to converge on the slimes closing in, while Yuki jumps.
This complex sequence could better be handled with Blender, but I am not fluent enough with Blender yet to tackle this project with it. No matter, I'm surprised with how Krita can handle things in its own way, and for what I have in mind with a fully hand drawn Henesys scene, Krita is the better choice. Making this scene with multiple screenshot clippings shows that it can be done just as easily, which for a screen rip of the background, redrawn and cleaned up with Krita, makes a very good match for the actual game play.
