"Come on, Guild! Ya can't keep eatin' your feelings like that!"
"I can, and I will! Besides, you guys are the only ones who'll see me like this!"
"Oh, we can definitely see a lot of you. You're starting to pack on the ol' 'Freshman 15', my guy. ...and you're not even in college anymore!"
Mild spoilers for "Vampire Angels ~The Legacy of Dracula~", but there's a moment fairly late in the story where Guild ends up reliving his traumatic past during a nasty Vesprillo attack and succumbs to "The Big Sad". Afterwards, he ends up quarantined due to potential contamination and the isolation and trauma leads him to using food as a coping mechanism, something he hasn't done since high school. Yeah, fun fact about Guild: he's low key very self-conscious about his body weight because of that. While he wasn't full on fat in high school, he was noticeably pudgy... something that comes back with a vengeance after this little trauma dump.
The result is what you see here! A Guild Ozyamandos who has let himself go and gorged himself on all manner of takeout and junk food, and has gained himself a sizeable potbelly. The sad part is that the Guild of before not only wouldn't be caught dead like this, but would he hella embarrassed by it. However, he ends up in a state similar to Asuka after her brutal mindrape of Episode 22 of Neon Genesis Evangelion and just can't bring himself to care anymore. Fortunately, both Alex and Grub end up snapping him out of his funk; though interestingly enough, he never ends up losing the gut if you notice the smile on his face on his full art on the side. That's because a certain someone helps him become comfortable enough in his own skin to more or less wear it with some semblance of pride. I'd say who, but that'd be MAJOR SPOILERS!
That all being said, this is a potential "what if" I thought up both as an interesting bit of minor character drama, and (if I'm being honest) because I was belly horny at the time. Now... I sleep. *collapses*
