As a siege lasting several years comes to an end, an old soldier decides to adopt the scrungliest catfolk orphan in town! :P
People tend to forget this, but it was not unusual for sieges to last years or even decades back in the day. As the Ajshar age faster than humans, the poor cat probably barely remembers when the whole thing even started, and spent the last part of his childhood dealing with death, disease, famine and gods know what else. At some point he was probably helping the defenders on the walls by carrying stuff around, and an old soldier took him under his wing.
While some scars will never heal, at least these two have one another in this next chapter of their lives!
(The kitten is full of scratches because he tends to do that when he's stressed out or afraid, and that was a pretty common occurrence considering the whole situation)

I will have to look into this now. ....that is insane. Allthogh if it really was 33 years, we arent talking about 33 years of battle but more like a long lasting blockade with periods of active battle maybe. I will have to llok into it. ...anyways it sound crazy to be fighing a war for that long.
When they talk about the wars of the past somehow they forget the Thirty Years War.

Woah thats awfully long time for a sedge. ...to my knowledge some of the most famus sedges of human history lasted between 1 and 7 months. ...but years or decades. Good lord!
Also ....I believe there is some double truth spoken by that solder. ....as most of us want the exact same thing today. (much more so if one can get help from a kitten. ....poor thing. He surely has suffer his share)

Boy, the realism of what could be going through someone's mind in a historically accurate siege. Feels weird I learned a lot about history of how sieges went in history in like... the last two months before this.
Alright I need at least one or two more drawings of these two somewhere in the future. I don't know, for some reason my brain just needs to see at least snapshots of these two's lives like I am reading something about history where we found accounts about specific individuals.
Something about my brain craves to see a conclusion.
