Just felt like a natural evolution tbh. Valmont always leaned femme, I had wanted to make her trans earlier on but I was talked out of it by a then friend not to. We went the non-binary route for awhile,, though something still didn't quite sit right the more I got into writing and developing her. It just kind of makes sense, now that her story is linked so heavily with Drayven's.
I think it adds a bit more tragedy to things as well, because she would want to marry him and have babies, but for reasons beyond her control she can't.
Plus it adds a bit more diversity in the cast that was missing.
