"...and i'm sure you agree with me that it's a whole lot easier for you to go ahead on around me and my ten ton friend here rather than staying on the path, right?" The gelatinous shark says with a toothy grin, bringing you back into the moment as you try to blink the bright sun out of your eyes.
One moment you were taking the side path through to the beach, a bit too involved in trying to find out directions on your phone to the pier and the next thing you remember was hitting something massive and soft before falling right onto your back. Not even recovering from that and then a see through shark of all things pops out of... whatever this thing was and is now going on about their friend and them not being able to move. Is this... thing, their friend? A closer look does show that the mounds of pinkish and black mounds behind the shark are slowly jiggling with a rise and fall like it's breathing.
"Are they alright with that, Kio?" A voice emanates from the pillowey mounds, the shark rotating to face upward towards them. "Give them some time, they did just meet and crash into an near immovable object." A huff from somewhere beyond, "Yeah, yeah, I thought I could make it but..." The shark pats the cave it's emerging from. "Ahh, there, there! Was a valiant effort! But does still mean we're in the way." The shark turns back to you. "And we apologize for that! Now, I must be out of the sun here, the shade isin't offering much relief in this heat today, is it?" The shark says with a chuckle before sliding back into the rounded cave without waiting for you to reply.
You pick yourself up, dust off your phone that landed in the grass nearby, and start to walk around what you soon come to learn is an orca. Massively fat and nearly impossible to tell he was one if it wasn't for the distinctive markings on him. You find yourself walking without concentrating again, trying to decipher just what in the world just happened. Just before the oddest sight falls behind you fully, you hear "Sorry 'bout that! Might wanna take a different path on the way back! Doubt i'm gonna be any further along anytime soon..."
Ey, something quick to show that i'm still around! Guess that series burned me out more than I thought.
