copypasta'd from my dA account:
SO this is just something I threw together quickly. Due to a certain artist's hounding I've been observing, I thought something like this would be necessary. It's not necessarily truly accurate 100%, but it is meant to put the artist on the right path. Also, if you notice my point at the bottom, stylizing should never be a substitute nor a crutch for correct anatomy.
Once understanding the basic anatomy, you can start figuring out its limitations and how things work. Also, using guidelines truly helps. It gives you the basic skeleton that will show you the limitations of your subject and to help make things more proportioned and just overall improve your style. Sorry if this isn't super informative. I'm more of a visual learner, and having just the visuals help me out a lot. If you need explanation on anything or have any questions, feel free to ask.
Have no idea how helpful this thing will be, but if it helps out at least one artist, it's done its job :3

"stylizing should never be a substitute nor a crutch for correct anatomy"
This, this, this this, THIS. ;-;
I've tried to explain this to people forever, only to get "It's MY STYLE" or "It's CHIBI" or something. They don't realize that even people who's speciality is "chibi" art, they have a great grasp on anatomy. :/

So very true! I started out stylized without any grasp on anatomy, but as time's gone on, I learned to start adding realistic aspects to my anatomy to make it more fleshed out and believable looking :)
It's unfortunate when people use "It's my style" excuse as a reason for incorrect/unbelievable anatomy.
