damn this took a lot longer than i thought but i guess this would be an original species kinda???
i ran out of room to write it but also the oral rings are used to determine age kinda like tree rings! one ring is added to the palate a year and the color varies based on diet, overall health is also reflected in how bright/vibrant the rings are
