I designed this creature myself.
It is a devious and mysterious yokai called a Nenshodama which should mean "burning soul" in Japanese.
As seen, it has a maedate, a decoration on samurai helmets, growing from its head and has frilled ears. Its body is very geometric and its skin feels like dry wood, but it is very strong.
The strange joints that make up its elbows and knees can actually disconnect from the core body. The joints then unravel their sides into small, yet strong wings. The head breaks loose, then all parts fly away leaving the core body behind. The maedate has a small, blank disk which fills with a bright red fluid as a counter. The main body begins to break down and become hot. As soon as the disk is full the core explodes, killing or destroying whatever it may have attached to.
The head then takes some time to regrow a new core body.
I might draw a tail for the Nenshodama as I develop it further.
