This is an ornament of the glass stars found on the Nauvoo Temple. The star itself is not Satanic, as many people may believe due to the star being a pentagram, a five pointed star turned upside down. The star itself actually represents the dawning of a new day and the restoration of the gospel. Many other non LDS churches have similar symbols on them.
