I had an idea for an alternate evolution for Drowzee based on more closely on it's origin in Japanese folklore, of the Baku monster.

Drowzee is based on a Tapir, and in Japanese mythology there is a Dream Eating Monster called a Baku, described as having: The trunk and tusks of an elephant, the ears of a rhinoceros, the tail of a cow, the body of a bear and the paws of a tiger which protected against pestilence and evil. When the Japanese saw the Tapir their reaction was something along the lines of "Hey it looks just like out mythical creature" just like how Europeans saw the Komodo Dragon and named it after Dragons.

Bakshoo (Psychic/Fighting) is a regional evolution of Drowzee, but might actually be the original version like Alolan Exeggutor. Bakshoo is a defender of dreams that drives away nightmares and evil spirits.
