True confession: I shortcut like nobody's business, as an artist. Which mostly I'm not too bothered over, as I'm usually able to arrive at something satisfactory to myself through lazy means - but this character's design has been drifting ever since I started drawing her, and keeping on-model is a bit of a challenge since I drifted towards more kemonomimi-type character designs long before actually getting even vaguely decent at drawing and never did get the hang of anthro muzzle-faces. Sometimes there's no substitute for just sitting down and doing something a whole bunch 'til you start to get less bad at it...
(Tried to color it, but learned some hard lessons about the minimum scale you can effectively use artist's markers at. Fortunately, I'd scanned the lineart prior.)

I do actually write bits of some stories while working on others (I have the first few chapters of "Original Character, Do Not Steal" more or less complete, f'rinstance,) but I'm trying to make myself stick to a project 'til it's completed, because my habit otherwise is to spend years bouncing around from one inspiration to another and never finish anything :|
Additionally, I'm still working out exactly what the story is here (one of the things that stalled me on "Nyandemic" initially was that I got deep into writing it before I'd settled that to my satisfaction.) I know the general premise & tone and I have a number of "bits" I'm looking forward to doing, but I haven't quite worked out what the larger plot looks like, where it's all going, and why.
(Plus, I'm trying to assess whether I'd tackle it as a prose story, or if it might potentially be something I could get a webcomic out of. I've wanted to do one for years, but it's a big commitment and I'd want to be sure I could get a reasonable run out of the material. Not sure as yet where this one falls in that regard.)
Rest assured, though, we will be getting her story one way or another =^_^= This idea's been kicking around in the back of my brain for a while, but only really started to crystallize when I settled on the character designs, and I've been having far too much fun with her to drop the idea ;)
