It is! The AC convention center is right next to it- Pittsburgh Penn Station is a block or two away just down that line. It's Norfolk Southern's ex-PRR main from Chicago to Philadelphia, the same line that goes through Horseshoe Curve.
Yeah, the roof of the convention center is actually a great train watching spot! I caught several trains going across it while I was at the con. Including some Conrail stuff.
Nice shot! And it had to have something railway related behind, no? Try to remake this shot, either with some photoshoped train there, or either on a draw. It would give out a nice pic!
Yeah, I wish I had timed it better to have a train in the background. Though I did see about 10 trains go across that bridge during the convention, and certainly there were a lot more that I didn't see. Pittsburgh is a major rail hub.
