Being a mercenary for hire can be a tough gig for the pay, even if the customers happen to be Royalty with deep pockets it does not mean the salary scales up with it. Naturally it does not sound bad to take a couple "souvenirs" from my past employers as a tip for my great services to make a little hoard out of for my instinctive needs tho I am sure they would not notice, its not like they would talk to each other or anything, oh wait....

I hate how as an Arizonan who has a cactipine sona (saguaro cactus x cardon cactus x porcupine) I’d likely be chatting with the other fellow cactus hybrid species there, completely ignoring the fact they probably don’t want to hear my ADD ramblings for 15 hours straight in combination with my soft voice-
(Not to mention given zona’s well- Omniversal, he’s definitely hopped to your dimension before, though- never seeing you, at least officially as depicted in this lovely, lovely art of yours, all I know, is he’s cuddling with even the deadliest of desert wildlife in your timeline.)
