A murmur played through the "Victoria's Cobweb" pub as the evening went along, music playing overhead as everyone was embracing the time at the establishment, whether this was groups dining on well prepared pub meals, or just having a schooner or two near the bar. One family had only just sat themselves five minutes earlier, getting comfortable as they soaked in the environment. One parent took a moment to get a grasp of everything over the table as they rested their behind on the chair, while the other parent took the chance to get their youngest properly seated, as best as they could with before the rowdiness could really kick in.
As the family was all finally settled in, a spider, orderly waltzed towards the table with an enthusiastic look on his face. Dressed in fine waitress wear, with a white apron wrapped around their body, down to their knees, and layers of a suit sitting beneath, with a small black bowtie tied around their neck to tie it all off.
"G'day all, and welcome to Vikkies! I'm here to provide you with some complimentary water and offer you the chance to order up a free entrée of your choosing to kick off your occasion. Do know that all kids eat free today, so that should save you all a buck or two. My only hope is that you all have a bloody good time here!(ORIGINALLY DONE ON THE 20TH OF APRIL, 2025!!)
Gave my first shot at trying to do a full-body doodle of some kind with a character, and of course, had to use Leo for this. Of course, this made things much harder as a result of Leo being a bit more complicated to say the least, mainly when it comes to anatomy and having to mess with limbs. ::B
The fact this is also a full body art piece, and everything is zoomed out, small details like the clothing, claws, hair and even the facial details like the eyes, are hard to get all crammed in without it being overcrowded and hard to look at. So, once again, I throw myself into the deep end, because I am a bloody maniac! ::D
Nevertheless, Leo here is just taking up waitress duties. Going around the pub to provide drinks directly to patrons, while also preparing to take up the orders. Pubs don't normally do these kinds of things, but on some days, Leo likes to do more direct action. It's his chance to give a much warmer welcome to folks, as he feels like they deserve some kind of comfort while enjoying their stay. ::3
Even though the process was rather frustrating, the results were far from anything I felt I would expect for a first-time attempt. There are aspects I do think I am happy with, such as the arms all being utilised, and not being too "rough" with the shape; however, they could have been less "jagged" at the bends.
Proportions are maybe my biggest criticism of this piece, Leo looks a tad taller than expected. It is an art skill I need to work on, since I tend to just draw the character/object as I go, without any techniques, like the one where you sketch to basic shapes before doing full lines.
Beyond this, I am still happy with this, and as always, every doodle, no matter the quality, is always one step forward in improving. ^^w^^
