Attempt at realism, this is a digital painting done in SAI of a mountain lion, directly referencing a photograph.
As you can probably guess, it took way too long to finish, something like 10-20 hours. Not totally happy with it, I want perfectly photo real fur texture as I've seen others do & I feel like i have to abuse glow/shadow layers to cover up errors. Still, I am at least satisfied enough to let others see this unlike the last 5 attempts... I've learned a bit and hope to do better/quicker next time.

Holy fuck.
If your attempt was at realism, then mission accomplished. I seriously thought this was just a picture of a mountain lion on the front page, figured I'd take a look because I friggen love big cats, and discovered this was done in Sai, with (digital) paint n such. Mind=Blown.
