Since drawing is one of the only things I can do right now, and since I’m diaper brained, I knew what I had to do.
Unfortunately, as I started this drawing, I knew it was going to turn out poorly. The first character alone, Chip, feels very off model. I think it has to do with the head shape or the beak. Then there was Tiki and I had very little experience with characters with a head shaped like that, especially at a side angle, and I think it came out better than Chip, it’s placement caused me to increase the length of her neck, so that looks bad. Pip came out, okay-ish, but since I’m not as good at drawing cartoony proportions, that also hampered the final product. All in all, it’s serviceable but still demoralizing to look at.
Any advice is welcome, as always. I just wanted to get on the padded art band wagon before anyone else, unfortunately drawing new characters is almost always going to turn out bad.
Visual Description:
On the right is Chip, a young white Cockatoo in a short-sleeve, dark blue pirate-style jacket with gold trim around the inside and on the buttons, a dark gray shirt underneath, and simple black shoes on his feet. He is clad in a black disposable diaper with a skull and crossbones on the tape field. He shrugs with his wings/arms as he looks at his diaper with an angry look.
In the middle is Tiki, a black toucan/puffin with a long green beak with a light blue tip, a big red spout on the intersection, and a yellow oval on her cheek. She has a tuft of three black feathers on the back of her head tied together with a pink bandanna. She wears a light tan dress with tulip-like sleeves and a red belt around the waistline, as she struggles to push the skirt down to conceal the bulky pink diaper underneath it.
On the right is Pip, a teal green parrot with a dark blue-gray beak, yellow spots on his cheeks, a red spot over the bridge of his nose, and black legs. He wears a red bandanna with two feather tufts poking out underneath the front, a red and white striped short-sleeve shirt, and a light blue diaper with red tape. He is bent over with crossed legs as he feels the thickness of his diaper with his right wing/arm and holds his other wing/arm under his beak as he looks at the padding with an embarrassed expression.
The background is an indigo gradient with a bullseye cutout. It’s meant to be the background used in the Indigo channel seen in the video these characters appeared in.
