Happy Halloween! 
alexandradaneIt's a dark and foggy night, the chilly breeze makes the fog swirl and dance in the moonlight, making it appear like apparitions. Normally Halloween is a joyful night, filled with tricks, treats and spooky pranks. But something in the air tonight is just... off. It carries a chill, a moist sickly chill that you can feel all the way into your bones. You don't know why, but for some reason "cold like the grave" keeps popping up in your head. You pull the jacket tighter around you and speed up the steps, hoping to make it back home without further delay.
And that's when you hear it. A distant, distorted echoing neigh. The very sound is electric and makes the hairs at the back of your neck stand right out. They say that the veil between the worlds is thinnest this night, could it actually be the headless horseman? You speed up your steps even further and starts to cut across a meadow for a shortcut, where some of the jack-o-lanterns from the evenings celebrations are still burning. It must be closer to 3 am.
And that's when you hear it. The hammering of hooves closing in, the snorting of a horse. You spin around, looking around, and suddenly as if out of nowhere she's there, right in front of you. Black as the dark of night with mane and tail silvery like moonlight. Her blue eyes glowing eerily like distant stars. She comes to a halt and lets out a snort. A foggy breath leaves her nose but its not warm. It's just... mist. You cannot tell if its real or an apparition, until you reach out and gently touch her snout. She snorts softly and is slightly electric to the touch.
Will you mount and ride off into the night with her? Or will you decline and remain alone in the dark fields? Some say that Nightmare can take you to places usually not visited by the living... but not everyone makes it back...~
