Legend says that when certain starts align, believed to be impossible, that the moon would turn an evil shade of orange, and spores would sprinkle over the land, growing gourds at an extraordinary rate.

But not just any pumpkins, ones with minds of their own, with only a desire to spread far and wide….

…Duski was on their evening walk, enjoying the fresh, autumnal breeze before winter blows in, before seeing someone they recognised…
It was Athena! Wearing a pretty tacky, if effective pumpkin costume, the deergi had to go say hi!
But as they got closer, they noticed the orca seeming a little… off… less vocal and more… moany… hunched over and lifeless, as they shambled around to face the canine.

The pumpkin glowed brightly, seeming almost alien in nature, that must be some pretty cool effects! Maybe the costume was cooler than they first thought, and their acting was on point!
A little too much so, the orca trying to grab Duski as they slipped back, telling Athena they had done a good job and can stop now….

But the orca continued to shamble towards them, in fact, as Duski turned around, a lot of people were, people wearing the same outfits, it couldn't be a coincidence, this was starting to get freaky!

Duski tried to get away, but felt a vine hook over their shoe, the park they entered starting to look more like a farm as pumpkins started to litter over any ground it could grow.
The panic pup tried to scamper, before THUNK, a pumpkin snuggly fit over their head!

The pup became still, as vines wrangled their way over, their new hat securing themselves nicely, as the newly created pumpkin zombie raised to its paws and groaned in unison with the others.

It was going to be a very long night…
