Tethys is one of the elemental titans that came into existence after the big bang and begin the time. She and the other titans were tasked by the creator to form the worlds and realms. Tethys formed icy comets, gave worlds water and oceans and from those seas sprouted life, and balance the heat and dry with her wet and cool. When their work was done, the titans then created a place for their own elemental powers to be able to be channeled to each of the worlds and realms. Tethys created Umi: The Endless Seas, where water elementals live and rest and purify any contamination on them.

Free to live their eternal lives and watch over mortal kind, they started to mingle with one another and created their children; the Gods. However, the leader of the titans: Chronos foresaw the Gods overthrowing them, went mad and started to devour his own children. Until Zeus (who hid away) was able to grow up, rally other gods who didn't get eaten and defeated Chronos and imprisoned him. The other Titans were furious and wanted to Chronos to be freed and attacked the Gods. While the Titans were much stronger than the gods, the gods themselves work together, teaming up and actually brought down each Titan. Most didn't give in without a fight while others surrendered.

Tethys sensing the threat of the Gods, hid as best she could and if found, would lash out in self defense as the Gods' forces would be found frozen, drowned, crushed inwards on themselves or blown into pieces. Poseidon, Triton and Neptune hunted Tethys down, slew her mate Oceanus and using the Kraken to hit her with Oil and Ink, Tethys was finally captured. She was imprisoned on one of Saturn's moons that is a liquid moon, trapped within it's core with currents forming a powerful sonic bubble, disrupting Tethys' power over water.

It is said that a portion of Tethys' power is stored within a magical Sapphire that illuminates like the moon but only those who compassionate and tries to make what went wrong, right. The Sapphire maybe the key to Tethys' freedom.
