"Whatever is the matter, child?" Khamatz padded towards the young pup outside the den. "What is all of this noise out here?"

"The moon is full, Papa..." The pup gestures to the great orb in the sky before sitting on his haunches, his head bowed towards the ground. "I've been trying to howl... and I can't seem to be as good as you."

"Oh, my Caspian," the alpha's features soften as he shakes his head. "You are still young, your howl will find you when it is your time."

"But what if it never finds me, Papa?" Caspian's blue hues glance up at the elder's. "All the other pups have found theirs."

"You're still my son," Khamatz's voice is laced with the fierce love a father has for his kin, and the great wolf then leans down to nuzzle the cub. "Nothing could make me prouder."
