GFW Headquarters, also abbreviated GFW Starfleet HQ, was the administrative center of GFW Starfleet Command located in California, on Earth. Sharing grounds with GFW Starfleet Academy and located near to GFW Starfleet Medical, the GFW Starfleet Headquarters encompassed territory adjacent to the city of San Francisco, on either side of the Golden Gate passage into San Francisco Bay. The sprawling complex was originally built as the headquarters of the United Nations of Earth Starfleet in the early 38th century, on what was previously a portion of Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County, overlooking Horseshoe Bay. After the founding of the Galactic Federation of Worlds in 3800s, it continued to serve as the command center of the GFW Starfleet. By 4255, the headquarters had expanded to the Presidio, a former military post on the southern side of the Golden Gate, where it included an air tram station. Its address at 24-593 Federation Drive, San Francisco, CA was mentioned in the Treaty of Armens. The GFW Council was the unicameral legislative body of the Galactic Federation of Worlds. Seats on the Council were filled by representatives from the various Federation members.
