Between jobs, Sal and Avo often took Avo's bike out for a ride, far away from their concerns. It'd become a habit of theirs to go by the nearest shore and find the best spot to spend the evening, a point to return to between eating out, buying souveniers and trinkets, and getting things ready for their next trip.
Few things were more beautiful than the seaside or smelled better than the shoreline. But they were always better enjoyed with the one you love.
A beautiful piece by my lovely wife,
oPashoo. My favorite part is the warm way Sal's looking at Avo. The piece is actually based on a sketch from a couple years back, and I've kept it up ever since. That loving gaze is exactly how I look at my woman, so seeing it captured here has always been heartwarming.
