Art trade for
stargatemorro, who wanted his character Wheaton in a situation similar to another picture I made earlier last month: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62760202
Here, Wheaton is on his knees, stuck in a very deep hypnotic trance.
On the other side, he is in a very peculiar, high tech sneaking suit, in a waterbank camouflage. It is also slightly modified for... Reasons...
Stargate didn't request a background, but I got bored and added one as compensation for his end.
Story-wise, Wheaton was caught in a bad spot at a bad time, and has walked into the wrong place for the wrong reasons.
In spite of being in such an odd situation, the truth is that there are some classic cartoonic shenanigans taking place...
Earlier today, Wheaton was assigned to test out a prototype sneaking suit. It is supposed to include many state of the art features intended for special operations, such as adaptive camouflage, filtration helmet, visor with heads up display, hydration system, artificial muscles, environmental sealing, along with the standard communication and GPS.
During a testing session, the suit's systems suddenly go haywire; audio feedback goes silent, communications have been cut off, and the visor displays full black to block vision.
Wheaton attempts to take the suit off, but the filtration and environmental sealing systems kick in, preventing him from smelling anything or taking the helmet off. The fox is locked in his suit.
Without communications, the inability to see, or even smell the test room, the fennec fox is completely isolated from the outside world.
...
As Wheaton tries to take his helmet off, the visor flashes back on, allowing Wheaton to see again. However, his vision is a very odd shade of pink, flashing and spiraling before his eyes. Wavy sounds and an alluring voice playing in his ears.
He knew it was trouble.
Wheaton looks at the research team, scrambling to find out what's going on with the suit. The research team tells Wheaton to remain calm as they try to reset the suit systems, but with the audio systems hijacked, their test subect won't be able to hear them.
Wheaton tries to access the suit's systems through an integrated wrist pad. The display isn't responding to his inputs, instead flashing words of submission, surrender, and obedience; all of which are reflected on the visor.
The fennec fox stares into the display, letting himself slip away for a minute or two...
But he then realizes what's going and snaps out of it. With the wrist pad unresponsive, Wheaton then tries to pull his helmet off. The environmental sealing feature keeps the fox's helmet stuck to his head, preventing him from taking it off.
As the fennec fox continues to struggle, the soft, calming music continues to play into his ears. His arms slowly droop as an image crosses into his mind. The fox sees himself floating down a pink river, letting himself slip away into the depths...
The fennec blinks a few times, frantically shaking his head to get himself out of his trance. Wheaton takes a deep breath and continues pulling at the helmet. No matter how hard he pulls, the helmet wouldn't budge.
Communication and audio systems are on the fritz, and environmental sealing is in full effect. His voice is completely muffled to them, and he won't be able to hear anything back either.
Getting out of the suit and asking for help is out of the question. Wheaton simply closes his eyes to avoid looking at the visor, even sitting down to avoid colliding into anything he can't see.
With no sight, no smell, a numbed sense of touch, and selective hearing, the fennec is forced to deprave his senses to avoid further trickery...
...
...
Deep in isolation, the hypnotic spiral flashes into the fox's eyes as brightly as possible, but the fox's eyes are completely closed, unwilling to let a single pixel distract him. The calming music glistening his ears is meant to back up the visual facade, but without any eyes locked onto the spiral, the music serves nothing more than simple ambience.
Wheaton's mind remains intact in spite of the onslaught of visual tricks. Looks like that last ditch worked nicely.
All Wheaton can do now is wait for the research team to regain connection to him. Until then, he is reduced to makeshift meditation, taking slow deep breaths and keeping his eyes closed shut.
...
...
A soft voice crackles into Wheaton's ears. Wheaton asks who it is, the voice responds to him, claiming that they're part of the research team. The voice warns him to keep his eyes closed as the visor is still broadcasting a swirling spiral, but is willing to accompany him as they continue to run diagnostics.
The voice's tone is like lovely velvet silk, telling him everything is going to be okay; it gives Wheaton some comfort in light of his circumstance.
The voice tells Wheaton to imagine himself at a riverbank, sitting near a river slowing beside him.
Wheaton takes a deep breath, imagining the sound of the river as it flows...
The voice then tells him to imagine himself floating down the river, letting it carry him away.
Wheaton relaxes his arms and legs, letting that thought carry him away...
The voice then tells him to imagine the river getting close to a waterfall. It starts to count down as he gets closer and closer to the edge...
The fennec fox takes deep, deep breaths as his mind prepares to go deeper and deeper into trance...
Upon reaching zero, Wheaton falls down the waterfall and into the sky. A cloud catches him and cradling him like a doll.
The fox feels very warm and fuzzy, his mind drifting away as he is guided through the dreamscape.
The voice then tells him to imagine it tying strings around the fox's arms and legs, like a puppet.
The fennec fox accepts the strings taking control of his arms without resistance...
The voice then dangles his arms around like a puppet. Wheaton dangles his arms around as the voice says...
The voice tells Wheaton to get up and open his eyes. Wheaton stands up, and opens his eyes, where a pink swirling screen awaits him...
...
...
The research team finishes up diagnostics, knowing well that their suit has been hacked by an unknown party with Wheaton still inside it. They have been attempting to regain connection to the suit, unable to talk with Wheaton as they try to sever the hacker's connection.
However, one of the researchers glimpses back to see that Wheaton and their sneaking suit are gone. The suit's enhanced mobility and camouflage made it look like the fennec fox just disappeared without a trace.
They are shocked at first, but quickly remember about a contingency plan: the suit already comes with a tracking device to help recover the suit and its wearer. They can easily pinpoint where Wheaton has run off to, regardless of where he can hide.
Their screen shows a dot skipping across building blocks like an animal jumping from tree to tree. Wheaton is currently making his way towards the dark side of the city...
...
...
Within minutes, the marker stops at a night club near the center of that sector. The team calls in their specialist to recover Wheaton and the suit.
~~~~~~~
...
Deep in the night club, the voice tells Wheaton to get on his knees. Wheaton drops to his knees without question. The voice pats him on the head for a job well done.
They provide a few slight modifications to the sneaking suit: a pack of cuffs on each of Wheaton's arms and legs. Such a cosmetic modification may look silly, but to Wheaton, the cuffs "greatly enhance" their hypnotic control over him.
With the modifications complete, Wheaton can only imagine the strings tightening around his arms and legs. In his mind, the fennec fox is now their newest member of the night club, a pawn to their whim, a submissive for the others to toy with, and a mindless puppet under their command.
The fennec fox remains on his knees, eagerly awaiting his next order without a care in the world.
The voice too sees Wheaton as such, but right now, he is a guinea pig for a grander scheme. With the sneaking suit now in their possession, they simply wait for the next stage of their plan, more specifically, for their target to find them.
The company who made Wheaton's sneaking suit is the same one that made a suit for someone called "Spectre", an enigmatic vigilante of the city. Knowing the company, they'll likely call in Spectre to retrieve Wheaton and his sneaking suit. All they need to do is wait for Spectre to take the bait, capture and hack into their suit, and take control of them.
The voice and the other managers aren't intending to steal the technologically heavy suits, but to use the tactical suits and the duo as part of a coming tactical theme for their night club.
Ordinarily, the managers would've just searched online for references or at least asked someone to provide the pictures themselves, but where's the fun in that when they can just steal an example for themselves? And what better way to demonstrate their influence by having a famous, enigmatic figure "volunteering" as their display model as part of a matching set?
~~~~~~~
...
With Wheaton's location pinpointed, the research team relays the data to their specialist. They brief the situation to them via phone.
...
"Hey. I've heard about what happened earlier, and with Wheaton. Did you guys forget to add the security systems for the test suit?
...
"*Sigh...* Please don't let that happen again. Can you at least confirm who hacked the test suit?"
...
"What? Them again? Yeah, don't worry too much about the test suit. I know who's behind the hack. I don't think they're the type to reverse engineer it anyways. They're likely going to use the test suit as part of a theme of some kind."
...
"That club is very secretive on how they get their decorations and equipment. Even if they have our test suit, our secrets are safe as long as they can keep it, too. Nobody is going to suspect a thing."
...
"I'm sure. I go to their club on occasion. The managers are an eccentric bunch, but they do keep their secrets tightly under wraps when it counts."
...
"Well, regarding what they're up to, I'm sure they intend to use the test suit as bait for "me". I'll go undercover and see if I can convince them to make their own replica suits instead. If they refuse, I'll find a way to send a message, then stall them out before then."
...
"I don't think Wheaton would mind taking a...mandated vacation for the time being. Seems like he'll need it more than me."
...
"They won't hack into the main suit, its security system is too much for them. They lucked out with the test suit since you guys forgot to add it in. ...Speaking of, can you add software to the test suit from where you are?"
...
"Good. We can work from there. I'll talk to you later."
"Why do people prefer the insane approach rather than playing it safe? It's like they're just asking for trouble..."
Sneaking suit design is by me.
