Dusk was beginning to blanket Treasure Town, the sun having tired from its generosity for the day. The last vestiges of warmth shone through in rays of gold and crimson as the chill autumnal air was beginning to take hold. Most explorer teams retired to the guild for the evening, some finishing last minute shopping, and a few select others gathering at the gates to the town, ready to blaze new trails under the light of the inevitable moonrise. The cafe was quiet for once this evening -- an oddity with the cool weather settling in. It was warm there, cozy even, and only a few teams took to its comfort this night, sharing gossip and tales and rumors over delicious beverages and simple but hearty meals.
The soft murmur of the place fell ghostly silent, however, as one particular Pokemon strode in with a quiet, fluid gait. It was a Decidueye by first appearance, their coloration perhaps a bit non-standard than the usual sight, but this was not an uncommon occurrence. The Decidueye stopped in their tracks a moment, eyes gliding first left and then right, taking in the looks and stares of the other teams. They were new exploration teams, most of them. The Decidueye recognized them -- there had been a healthy interest in exploration teams as of late at the guild, and interest warranted the acknowledgement of each. Unbothered, however, his stride continued after only a moment's pause, straight to juice bar, at which he began to order. The room began to fill with the soft gossiping whispers that had been present before his arrival.

"Yo, Kol, look! That's The Phantom Arrow!"
"Oh..yeah, that's that outlaw hunter, right?"
"Yeah..you know, they say most outlaws just turn themselves in when he's on their tail!"
"No way, they do not!"
"They do so! I've even seen it once! This Scyther, standing in the middle of Treasure Town, with a single blue-tipped quill atop his head. Magnezone came and picked him up not long after. He looked so scared!"
"Really?? No way..that's creepy..did that REALLY happen?"
"...okay, so >I< didn't see it but I HEARD it.."

"Oh, my -- Ves, look. Look who it is! The Spectral Archer! HERE! At the cafe!!"
"WHAT? WHERE??" ... ... "Oh..oh w-wow! No way!!"
"YES WAY!! He helped me the other day!! Remember when I said I wanted to venture alone for once! I got caught up in a tangle -- I thought I was done for! But he cleared the path for me, and even told me that some nasty outlaw had laid traps on the next floor! I was able to avoid them and get back to the guild because of him!"
"THAT'S him?? Oh wow..look at his feathers! They're so nice....you said he was Master rank right?? Do..do you think he would take the time to share advice with us??"
"He's ABOVE Master rank, Ves! He's Master *, and..I think so? He was so nice when we met!"
"Master *??? There's a rank above MASTER??"
"And even above that!! I heard that he's even gunning for another promotion..I wonder if he's trying to become a Guildmaster.."
"Whoa..talk about dedication.."

"...I'm tellin' you, Mhar, that Decidueye's serious business. The rumors are true, I swear. That green sash around his waist? The one you can barely notice? It's an artifact, and I was told that when he concentrates, it's hard for anyone to get a bead on him, and by the time you do -- boom. The outlaw is caught. Not even knocked out! Just..tangled, captured, or paralyzed with fear."
"Jeeze where d'you think he got THAT from? How many missions do you think he's got under his belt?"
"I dunno', but I know that the guild gives him some REALLY special outlaw bounties, like, seriously bad guys. Not the ones available to us -- like serious villains. Resource hoarders, ransomers, and some really nasty thugs. He goes after THEM, and most of the time? They just give up. That's it."
"Just give up? That reputation, sheesh! I guess he can back it up though from what you've told me."
"Yeah, he doesn't even carry a standard map! He has this old, dusty thing apparently, and it's filled with notes he's taken on all the dungeons he's been through. Can you imagine how helpful that'd be?? It's like a cheat sheet!"
"Well maybe if we ask--"
"No way, he'd never share something like that. He's the loner kinda' type anyway, probably not social."
"Loner? Y'mean to say he works solo??"
"Yeah,Team Wraith, but he used to have a partner, or so I've heard."
"Really? What happened?"
"Something went wrong on a contract, apparently. Think his partner got hurt and retired -- used his only Reviver Seed to bring him back. They say he only carries one to this day, as a reminder."
"..I can't go into dungeons without at least four."
"..yeah..you n' me both. Apparently he and his partner still meet up sometimes. His partner has taken up the item crafting trade -- makes really well-polished orbs and gear!"
"May not be mapping dungeons anymore but it sounds like he's still a big help! Wow.."
[Team Skulk; Ghastly(Fetter) & Sneasel(Swipe)]
"Yeah..that's him. The one who got our boss. No -- don't look his way, just play it cool."
"THAT'S him? How did HE get the boss?"
"He ran him ragged that's how. The pressure became too much and the boss messed up. Got struck by one of those quills -- I didn't even get to see him do it. Just one moment we were running, and then the next the boss was bound up by some roots and paralyzed. I got outta' there nice and quiet, I wasn't goin' down too."
"Doesn't he have BETTER things to do like rescuing the other little snots getting lost in the dungeons?"
"He does that too, but he focuses on outlaws. Bad ones. The boss was bad, all right, but even HE got caught. Look, I'm thinking about getting out of this business and doing some honest work."
"Don't be such a coward, you're a ghost-type. You can just..disappear and stuff."
"Yeah, so was the boss, and so is he. Listen, I don't ever want to catch a quill, so just keep your voice down and maybe he didn't see me back in the dungeon.."
"I could evade him."
"Swipe, he'd make YOU a ghost-type too, I swear."

Felt like doing a small little blurb for fun, I hope you all enjoy!
