My car would never forgive me if I did that. Looks like either an Olds or a Pontiac...
Every time I see something like this, I feel sick about it. THe immediate reaction almost always happens to be word-for-word what I just said... THen, the gearhead in me takes a break, and I realize there had to be a person inside there. Or more.
Just a few months ago, there was a single-car accident involving nine drunken teenagers and one Kia Spectra.
I can't honestly say I cared about the car, but not one of those kids survived.
THe car looked like it had been chewed-up and spat-out, and I try to convince myself that what I saw wasn't a person.

I also had a girlfriend who was killed in an accident involving alcohol. SHe wasn't drunk, but the person driving her home at the time was.
What can we do, except tell our stories, hoping someone might listen?
I tell 'ya... It sounds horribly cliche-driven, but if I spent months of my life bitching and moaning about the evils of drunken driving, and I only saved one person one car, or one person's life, I'd be happy. Time well-spent.

Time well spent, Amen. Its unfortunate that we don't learn until we are older. Its only those of us who are fortunate enough to get through these kind of things that we can only hope the young bucks will listen. But the sad thing is, I would probably would have not listen then. So can we expect them to listen now?
