In case you don't know who he is, John James is an American politician, businessman, and former military officer serving as the U.S. Representative for Michigan's 10th congressional district since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he was the party’s nominee for U.S. Senate in 2018 and 2020. In 2022, James declared his candidacy in Michigan's redrawn 10th congressional district, a seat he won and was re-elected to in 2024. On April 7, 2025, James announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Governor of Michigan in the 2026 election to succeed term-limited Democratic incumbent Governor Gretchen Whitmer, with polls showing James as the favorite to win the nomination. If elected, John James will be Michigan's first African-American Governor in history. As Governor, he promised to provide strong, competent leadership and implement "commonsense" policies. He stated that his campaign is motivated by a belief that Michigan is being held back by a lack of leadership and "radical, out-of-touch policies" that have negatively impacted the state's economy and families. His goal is to remove government from "fantasyland" and return it to practical, common-sense solutions.

If you live in Michigan and are a registered voter, I highly encourage you to vote for John James as the 50th Governor of Michigan! If not, you don't need to worry about this as this is only for individuals who are Michiganders and are registers to vote.
