Why does she want to cut her ears off?

because she feels trapped by who she is and her situation and she believes if she was human she would have more opportunities to live the life she wants, so she plans to cut her ears and tail. She can't go through with it though, she tries to snip out her whole ear in one go but the scissors aren't sharp enough and only cut about an inch in and she bleeds everywhere and has to stop, and then her doctor convinces her not to go through with it anyway.

aaaahhhh T_T no Sicily don't do it. *flail* God you did so well portraying this! Eesh why would she want to do that? DDD|

she thinks that if she were human she'd have more opportunities and the chance to live her life more freely (which probably is true), so she plans to cut off her ears and tail. It doesn't work out though, she just gets a nice tear in her ear. *~*

Wow... The emotion here is so intense. It kinda reminds of that scene in this one movie I can't remember where a guy commits suicide with a pair of scissors... But that's probably only circumstantial. Massive props, but it's suddenly making my ears very uncomfortable. XD

aw, thanks so much! I did have to redraw her face a few times for it to really work but I'm glad it looks good. ;w;

While the thought of blood and searing pain is bad enough, what really got me about this picture was the feeling she's ready to mutilate a central part of who she is, and aiming her grief and frustration at (that part of) herself instead of elsewhere.
(Glad to know she didn't succeed)

Sicily really struggles with her feelings of self-worth and where to focus blame on her situations, which is a lot of what this picture is about. I'm really glad the general feeling got across so clear! Thanks for the comment c:
