Behold my catto kids!!!!
I have some hard days behind be art wise and wanted to dra something fun to find the joy in my profession once again. Thankfully my friend Leo just sent be over a pic of a panther and a toger playing in the water, photo taken from above. And it instantly reminded me: i wanted to paint such a piece for a loooonng time now, it just got... forgotten. But now my friend is also requesting me to draw the kids like that - she is a big fan of Jade :D - I was like okay, let's do it!
I didn't want to super render the water - usually I get lost in the details, but this time I just used the lasso tool on the water, the eraser and some random brush strokes and that was it. However, I still cannot capture Jade - o r Ivory for that matter - perfectly. I struggle with their colours sooooo much, always looking for the perfect shade for them. Jade somehow turned into a golden panther, but oh well xD (He is a melanistic one and they have this effect when the orange still shows itself trough the darkness and I am unamble to get that right just yet. But one day, I will get it :D) And Ivory is jsut flat. I need to figure out how to give some dimension to a light-coated cat.
But I do like this piece, was so much fun to draw, the angle was fun, I love to paint water, lighting it was pain, but once again I am happy with the outcome :3 May I print it out and put it on the wall :D
