The gator's name is Borys and the rhino is Grit. Two friends who have lived many things together, including many traumas, but still manage to get jolly and friendly.
Random in the story is a bard who settled in their same village recently and has struggled to make friends - until he got to know them better. He's incredibly attracted by them physically and is embarassed about it as his emotions here show off. But they both don't mind it, in fact they're trying to make him feel more relaxed. Maybe they're even amused by it...? Who knows.
