This was the third piece I threw onto a picnic table while camping. He's next to my ground squirrel, smiling away.
This is the second piece in which i used a knothole in the wood for the eye, and just highlighted and added shadows to make it more realistic. This one was more difficult than the rest, because ravens are naturally black, and i chose a dark spot on the table to use.. So shadows were very hard to add in.

Thank you very much. n_n I do like this method of drawing; only problem is, where to find another wooden park bench. It seems like many of them have been replaced by metal or plastic ;_;
Maybe I could try on a fence or even some sort of wooden planter boxes.. Hmm.
