Concept Character: Max
I had this idea floating around in my head after "re-discovering" the show Drawn Together, the general idea being, "What would it be like if there was a "Drawn Together-esque" show featuring characters based on video games?"
Here would be one of the cast members, a chimera/manticore-type creature who goes by the name of Max (last name pending). He was born inside of a mail truck. His main genre is platforming/adventure, but he's done other projects as well. His species (name also pending) is supposedly endangered, "for some strange reason that the producers won't say". A generally nice guy, but he certainly has his "serial-killer" tendencies (kinda comes with having a scorpion tail, or could it be that his species has been known for its over-the-top bouts of rage). He enjoys playing all sorts of game genres, especially rhythm games. He also claims to have been the reincarnated form of "The Pharoah of All Pinatas" and has a Card Game addiction, and would sometimes do just about anything to get the money to buy more cards, even going so far as... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... well, use your imagination.
... anyways, this character is a bit of an expy to my Lombax character, Alexander, and thus he has some lombax-like influences to his design. Proportion-wise, I guess I channeled a bit of
wolfiecanem, mostly with the wide chest-and-shoulder area in comparison to everything else (btw, he's about 5' 4", so he's going to be short compared to most of the other cast members).
His character is supposed to be a mix of various stereotypes, such as furry fandom, Mar(t)y Sues, bi-polarity, "copy-paste"/"snowflake" characters and others that I can't think of at this moment.
The ear-wings (which I hope don't seem a bit girlish) are also functional for flight, where they grow many times their size in order to properly support him during flight (he keeps them closed mainly to get into small spaces, otherwise he has them open as seen in the middle picture). The "symbol" on his forehear is actually a third eye, which he rarely opens only to be more threatening (i.e., the schlera turn black, his fur gains red-and-black markings, the ear-wings turn black, etc.), but other than that, he's a fairly nice guy, if not "off-center" by about fifty feet. His scorpion tail has various and random effects whenever he stings someone/something with it, be it spontaneous combustion, turning the stingee into a kitten, and many more. As for his choice in clothing, I gave him clothing that Yugi would buy at a Hot Topic store owned by Tetsuya Nomura.
... anyways, whether I ever come up with more "Let's Play" cast member designs is not certain (though I do have some ideas for characters that represent hack-and-slash, shooters, and horror games) but if you guys have any suggestions, feel free to help me brainstorm =3
