it was a total BITCH to put together, but totally worth it. and i'm going to be getting the best toy for a rat: another rat xD

so hopefully my little babies will get to their full size. considering her last home was a dinky little 25 gallon tank (ya, it was small) i had to drop the money and do this otherwise i was pretty much going to give her up for adotpion, she didn't deserve the way she was living, because we couldn't save up the money to get her a big home.

Awesome, I got a jumbo cage for my rat right now and another back at my home in Tx xD I'm gonna give it to my Hamster... spoiled ass, when she passes away. Since she's older then my Hammy ;-; Rats are awesome pets I want another so bad

yeah c: i LOVE rats with a passion, unfortunatly i've only had the blessing of having one which is my little loki right now. and tomorrow we'll be getting another baby female and slowly introducing them. she shall be named athena!

Babies, it will help out too that the home is fairly new and your little one won't have had enough time to scent it all up to claim it fully. =3

and the rats that this pet store carries are about uhh if i'm correct 5 to 7 weeks old. that was about the age we got our little miss loki at.

i'm worried about the baby not being able to jump around and climb on the rods like loki is. i think i should get a ladder while i'm at the pet store...

Rats love to climb on bars. My friend bred them and they were climbing just around solid food time. You could always get a bit of wood and make a ramp. This is makinge want to build cages again lol

i was thinking of actually trying to make a rope ramp. i hear it's good for babies, they can get their little claws into the fabric without sliding. and yes xD loki has been climbing around her cage for hours now, she just figured out how to do it.

Oooh Rope ramp I tried that with my girls, they thought it was another chew toy lol... then again they were all adult age and never had one before. You can also get those sandpaper bird perches that look like a big purple (or whatever color your store has) stick and it helps when they walk on it to keep their nails filed down.
