Another OC that I'd been cooking the base concept for a while ago: the goth witch cat, Samantha Morgan, also known as Salem.

Bio: Most of Samantha's early life was largely uneventful; save for a noticeable interest in witches, magic, and general occult topics, as well as a desensitization to horror thanks to her mother's fascination with the genre, she never really stood out from her peers in any way other than an aloof and withdrawn attitude...

However, that changed when she reached her teen years, and her aunt introduced her to a coven she had made for aspiring young witches, called the Sisterhood of Shadows, where she learned and honed her craft alongside two other aspiring witches with her aunt as the coven's overseer. Rumours soon began to spread about the aloof, black-furred cat with an interest in witches and goth fashion, earning her the nickname 'Salem' among her classmates (though her full name may have also contributed to this).

A few years later, her aunt mysteriously vanished and a new overseer took charge of the coven, appointing herself 'Matriarch' and conducting all kinds of experimental and dangerous magics in secret. No longer willing to support the new Matriarch's ambitions, Salem left the coven at the urging of her mother and father, with the family soon moving to put distance between them. A few months later, after enrolling at the nearby university, she met CJ and his circle of friends... and upon learning about the Artifact that had bonded to the jackal, she quickly promised to help him learn more about it.

Now, Salem studies at the university to become an actress, putting her new skills to work to help support her family after their sudden upheaval, and helping CJ research about the Eye of Apophis... all while still studying the arcane in secret to honour her missing aunt.


Personality: Salem is, for the most part, an aloof and distant girl that rarely speaks to others unless she feels she has to and doesn't care about what others think or say about her. Despite this, once someone manages to strike up a conversation with her, Salem shows to be a very calm and insightful, albeit somewhat snarky, individual. She does show a more excitable side when discussing topics she enjoys, though this is often limited to her circle of friends.


Abilities
- Magic: Thanks to her training with her coven, Salem is proficient in spellcasting disciplines such as elemental manipulation, portal conjuring and illusions, though her repertoire of spells is steadily growing due to her continued training.
- Artifact Knowledge: Salem has an extensive, almost encyclopaedic knowledge of magical items known as Artifacts, and can easily identify such items either through her own knowledge, or by searching through various obscure sites. As such, she's the best suited to help unravel the mysteries of the Eye of Apophis that has bonded to CJ...
