Obviously this is not a redesign, just a slight filling out. I want Faergi to seem... not like your "stereotypical" shaman, all spooky and strange and full of portents. He can do those things if you insist, but that's not really his deal.

It’s all well and good being spooky and mysterious, keeps the younguns from messing with you too much. But in polite company I’m sure it pays to be wise of words as well as wise of magic and spirits. Being a mediator for your community, or sometimes just being a willing ear to listen.
Exactly. Being well practiced at this, Faergi knows that many people only really need a calm ear to hear them out and offer rational advice, or prescribe a medicine that anyone could gather and prepare without too much trouble.
But things anyone can do eventually become things no one is interested in doing. People also need an authority figure to help them keep a healthy reverence for important things. The rituals and chanting and fancy clothes all help to maintain that psychological ordering. (And yes, it keeps the damned brats away.)
