On this very day, four whole decades ago, William Boyd Watterson II’s revolutionary comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes, debuted in newspapers all across the world. It’s all thanks to Watterson’s wild imagination and visually captivating artwork and storytelling that I had such an epic childhood, and I can’t thank him enough. Next to Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes is the second greatest comic strip of all time, and may they continue to captivate young readers for many generations to come!
