This is a doodle from 2024 of my lake monster Slyvester (the name Sylvester but with the y-l switched. i wish it were something else). He's not really based on an animal so idk if he's technically a furry so much as a monster, but I know in my heart what it means to be a furry and what makes me like animal people also makes me like slippery long-faced mud men, I think the community will agree. That's where Sly spends his time btw, on the perimeter of a lake, where all the mud is. If anything I'd say the animal he's most inspired by is a mudskipper.
