A Thursday Prompt story

Prompt: vehicle
The CEO of the startup car company, a slim cougar wearing slacks and a plaid shirt, rubbed his paws as he led the e-zine reporter toward a huge shape covered by a gray tarpaulin. “I’m glad you agreed to come and give our company a writeup,” the feline said to the armadillo. “Tek Auto can use all the publicity right now.”
The armadillo nodded. “You’re looking at a lot of competition,” he said, “especially in the light truck and SUV markets. Still, my readers have been telling me that they want to see what you’ve got.”
“Sure thing!” the cougar said enthusiastically, and he pulled a lanyard that caused the tarp to rise away from the vehicle.
The reporter blinked. “What the hell is that?” he blurted.
“It’s our new concept SUV, scheduled for production in 2028,” the cougar said. “Plenty of room in the back, and can navigate nearly any type of terrain,” and he pointed to the treads that ran from midway down the vehicle’s length to its rear. “It gets twelve miles to the gallon – “
“Does it come in a hybrid?” the armadillo asked.
“That is the hybrid,” the CEO said. “It’s got great European styling – “
”Yeah, for nineteen forty-five,” the reporter said. The armadillo walked around it, forced to concede that it did, in fact, have plenty of room for passengers as well as cargo, and could likely do well off-road.
Much like its ancestor.
“So, what are you calling this?” the armadillo asked.
“Glad you asked,” the cougar said. He struck a pose in front of the hulking vehicle. “New for 2028, it’s the Tek Fuckoff!”
The armadillo’s heart sank even as he took notes. There would be people who would buy it; still, it would be hard to damage in city traffic.

Well, you know, it's not a bad thing to think you can pass off an old design as new so long as you stuff some electric motors into it >~_^< But car magazine reporters generally do tend to know their history well enough to see through that, sooo...
That was funny, though! I liked it! *chuckles* Now to wait for the next competitor in the market bringing out a new model with an anti-tank gun hidden in the trunk...

Speaking of concept cars. Did you hear about the GM concept EV that self-ignited sitting on the development center in LA last week. The smoke was so thick and dark that several firefighters got lost in the building. Damage was restricted to the concept car itself, plus smoke and water damage to the building.
Those things would sell like hotcakes where I live!
Also, I could see a school bus variant. Painted bright yellow with black trim lines. It's the newest line of safe school transport, guaranteed to deliver your precious little personnel, so their boots are on the ground on time.
Get hit by a car? No problem. A little sanding, a touch of Krylon yellow spray paint, and you're back to full battle-rattle in no time.
