the MK I tactical droid was built by E-CHI droid workshop between 1998 and 2010, being discontinued around 2014. They are cooled via back vents and a liquid refrigerant, which needs recharged every 2 years. they could reach 0.75 petaflops, and have 1 PB of onboard storage, expandable to 1.75 PB via memory module. they are lightly armored to survive normal wear. they come in every color of the rainbow, and default bios is male programming. female variants are uncommon. photoreceptor color can be white, red, or yellow, and vocoder indicator light in the "mouth" slot can be red or white.
They stand at 6ft tall, and have 4 fingered hands for precise console input. they were designed for tasks requiring brain work, or tedious administration tasks, as well as military command and advisory roles. they are one of the few droid models known to be prone to developing a pseudo-personality outside their bios, though amassing data, over time. They have a global programming flaw of being overly haughty. The main processors are in the chest, with the head containing the secondary processors and memory/sensory modules. The main processors idle at 8.5Ghz, while the secondary ones reach 3ghz
Upon the introduction of the MK II around 2014, the MK I was recalled and scrapped, however some simply oped for upgrade kits or retrofitting. after the first year of the recall, the Empire repurposed the remaining 1 million droids to be data entry droids for the Imperial Counter Intelligence and Surveillance bureau, as well as man the many government offices as desk clerks and “population inventory droids”. One such droid, TS-93, a black and gold and gray male unit, mans the cybernet city citizens registry office, a government establishment that issues ID cards and tracks citizens, as well as assigns them jobs. Another unit, TI-919, served as a prison warden for a forced labor political prisoner/dissenter camp and prison factory for imperial weapons.
KT-128, chosen name Katy (shown), is a deep purple and slate gray MK I tactical droid, was repurposed as a parts dealer in the scrappers bazaar in cybernet city. She was a first gen imperial tactical droid, and as such contains data that is useful to the rebellion. she helps the rebel group by trading imperial codes for spare parts and credits. She is sarcastic, dry, and haughty, but loyal to a fault. She becomes reynard the fox’s best friend.
