Theia and Emmet share the characteristic of doing the bulk of their research in a hole in the ground.

(That has the "benefit", by the way, of causing you to lose track of long stretches of time. Good for when you want to focus on the big problems, less so when you want to stay even a little bit tethered.)

Theia's hole is bigger than Emmet's, though. Much bigger. And her assistant doesn't talk back to her nearly as much—unless she really wants him to.

Whatever she's discovered, it looks like she'll be heading "downstairs" to tell Tybertus about it. That old hunk of junk will be keen to know that his investments are paying off.
